LAVENDER, LAVENDER, AND LAVENDER!
A relaxing reprieve from the hot weather and a break from work …
With the summer heat upon us these days, a day trip to the Lavender Farm in Long Island was very welcoming. It rained which brought on the freshness and erased the stale summer air, but no heavy downpours to spoil the day.
The trip started with a delicious brunch at one of the 600,000 Diners here in the United States, called Zona Out East, which added fuel to the trip.
Lavender By the Bay in Calverton, Long Island, is about two hours away from Manhattan by car. You can take the scenic route by following “Washington Spy Trail” or take the Interstate. Of course, the Spy Trail takes you through the quaint towns of the Island enriched with museums, arts, and culture.
We finally reached the Lavender Farm and the scent of lavender in the air was simply alluring. I must apologize for not being able to digitally share the fragrance of over 17 acres of lavender! The field is not only home to the flowers but is also a home to the bees, butterflies, and chickens. It is also a field filled with heart filling life empowering signs.
I hope you enjoy the photos I brought back with me …💟💟💟
